Beach description
Carmel is a huge sandy beach dotted with islets of greenery. It is famous for its soft surface, oases from trees and dense shrubs, wooden installations. You can also see huge boulders and well-kept gardens here.
The beach is characterized by a smooth set of depth, good waves, impeccable cleanliness. Its waters are highlighted in bright blue and 100% transparency. Many dolphins and sea otters live in them. In the middle of the ocean there are several picturesque rocks, near which divers and extreme sports swarm.
This place is famous for the following features:
- lack of deck chairs. They are replaced by thick and soft grass, on which you can lie in the sun;
- large volleyball courts overlooking the Monterey Bay National Marine Reserve;
- the opportunity to relax with dogs without a leash. Important to note: animals must be near their owners;
- ideal conditions for surfing. There are strong winds, powerful waves, rental centers for boards and schools for beginners;
- gravel walking path along a cypress avenue, green hills and sand dunes;
- bonfires on the ocean warming night tourists. They burn from 4:00 to 10:00 and get divorced in designated areas;
- the length of the beach exceeds 3 km, and its width reaches 100 m. There is always free space here.
The southern part of the beach is decorated with a block of low-rise villas, standing near the ocean. There is a golf course and public parks on the north shore. Another feature of Carmel is the motleyness of the public. Here couples and party-goers, youth and elderly people, budget tourists and rich people have a rest. Due to the developed infrastructure and a large amount of free space, they do not interfere with each other.
When is the best time to go?
To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.
