Glaronisia beach

Glaronisia is the main attraction of the island of Milos and is not a standard beach area, but unusual, rocky formations protruding above the water. Glaronisia is located off the northeast coast of Milos, not far from Pollonia. You can get to Glaronisia only by sea, sailing by boat or yacht.

Beach description

The visit to Glaronisia gives a wonderful possibility to enjoy privacy, silence, and sea. Islands are of volcanic origin, they have no special vegetation, and they are not inhabited. The only living creatures here are seagulls. So, before going to the islands for the vacation, take care of your comfort, and don't forget the necessary things: food, water, beach equipment.

The sea in the area of Glaronisia is of beautiful azure color, always clear and transparent. The absence of strong currents nearby makes it convenient for bathing, diving, and romantic boat tours. There is another, more comfortable beach nearby - Papafragas which is worth visiting by everyone who loves standard beach recreation.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
