Bahia de Las Aguilas beach
Bahia de Las Aguilas or Eagles Bay is a remote wild beach, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the Caribbean coast. It is located in the province of Pedernales and geographically belongs to the biosphere Jaragua Park. You can get to this impressive sandy-rocky coast with white sand from La Cueva by land (on foot, which is not very safe) or by sea (renting a boat in the village) - in any case, incredible landscapes are available for contemplation.

Beach description
The long coast, about 8 km long and 10 to 20 m wide, is surrounded by majestic karst cliffs, indented by waves and winds and giving the beach landscape an incredible view. Due to such natural protection, the waves are not as powerful as on other beaches of the country, and vacationers can even do paddleboarding, going to explore the coastal waters of the beach.
The huge coast, even in season, seems almost deserted. Leathery turtles have chosen desert shores to reproduce offspring. Sometimes you can even spot these marine giants on the coast. But among vacationers, the most popular are two small sites located near the most massive cliffs and called "lovers' beaches." You can visit them only from the sea.
When is it better to go?
In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
