Kite beach

Kite Beach is located in the north of the Dominican Republic east of Puerto Plata in the tourist center of Cabarete. Due to its northern location and the nature of the Caribbean weather systems, the city of Cabarete has excellent conditions for kitesurfing for almost 300 days a year, which attracts fans of this sport from around the world.

Beach description

This small beach is one of the best kite areas in the world. It was Kite Beach where kitesurfing appeared in the Caribbean. Despite the fact that the first 100 meters from the coast are very shallow, few people decide to swim here because of the danger of a collision with athletes.

This beach is ideal for kitesurfers of any age. In the first half of the day, the wind is weakened and the water is shallow, so beginners and children from the age of 12 learn to catch the wind. In the afternoon, the wind intensifies, and the beach is occupied by kitesurfing experts. The best months when to visit Kite: from February to March and from June to August. The water of this beach is always warm: in the summer temperature varies from 27 to 28 ° C, in the winter from 25 to 27 ° C.

Another activity on Kite is to launch bright kites that flood the beach by noon. The landscapes are incredible, white sand and the turquoise sea complement the bright colors of kites, the atmosphere of the beach is lively and extreme.

When is it better to go?

In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
