Beach description
It is easy to get to this Dominican beach: It is located in the east of the island, only 15 km from Punta Cana International Airport, from which you can take a taxi or rent a car to your destination. In the city of Calle Chicago, it extends for more than six miles. You can get to him by following the street of Chicago, which ends in the Meliá Caribe Tropical. In the province of La Altagracia there are 7 more beaches, but Bávaro Beach is considered one of the best not only within it, but also on the whole island.
Upon arrival at the place you will see endless white sand and big-leafed coconut palms that affably wave branches in the wind. The cleanliness of the beach area is monitored by coastal hotels and restaurants, of which there are many, but algae in the sand and in the water are still found. Do not blame it, but you are dealing with the ocean, so this is the norm. Nevertheless, walking on the sand is quite possible barefoot - there are no stones and waste on its territory.
A coral reef hides under the water, which strikes with a bright riot of colors and exotic inhabitants. The waves in this section are stable, but gentle and smooth. The water remains clear even away from the coast and exudes an incomparable aroma of freshness and tropics. The beach is characterized by a cozy gentle entrance to the water and safe shallow water, so parents can relax and let the kids frolic nonchalantly in the water without unnecessary fear.
When is it better to go?
In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
