Beach description
The coast is covered with light brown sand and surrounded by emerald green palm trees and beach bars, where you can have a tasty meal, while admiring the view of the sea. Minitas is famous for its relaxed atmosphere. There are always a lot of vacationers, but at the same time the beach is not considered too noisy and is suitable for family vacations and relaxation.
Stable waves allow you to conquer the sea under the sails of a windsurf board. The sandy bottom and the absence of underwater rocks, combined with gradually increasing depth, allows beginners to safely master this sport here. Those with less extreme leisure activities can rent bananas, catamarans or kayaks on the Minitas coast for coastal and long walks. You can also book a boat trip to Catalina Island, where there are more secluded beaches.
When is it better to go?
In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
