Rincón beach

One of the best in the Dominican Republic... According to some editions, it is in the TOP 10 of the best beaches in the world. But why is he so deserted and virgin? The answer will come by itself when you embark on a long journey to get to this coast. The land roads leading to the beach will definitely test your strength. But a walk on the water will seem an easier and more convenient way to get to Playa Rincón... But not everyone, after all, loves comfort - some prefer drive. And Rincon Beach is more than ready to provide it.

Beach description

The feature of this beach is that it is located in an inaccessible place - 25 kilometers from the port of Samana. This impressive secluded Caribbean beach with white sand extends about four kilometers away from any resorts or hotels - only a few restaurants and bars are located on its territory.

There are several ways to get here:

  • Rent a jeep or ATV Four Wheelers car. It will not work to get on an ordinary taxi, since the path to this tropical paradise is a steep off-road. Need a car with all-wheel drive and excellent suspension. Renting a jeep will cost $ 50 from Las Galeras. A bumpy trip will last from 45 minutes to an hour, despite the fact that the distance is only eight miles.
  • Take a ferry from the fishing village of Las Galeras, located at the end of the Samana Peninsula. A boat trip will open truly picturesque landscapes and will allow you to make a colorful photo shoot along the coast. This trip takes about half an hour and costs about $ 12 per person.

There are strong winds and waves, so this is a great place for surfing and sailing. Vacationers with children are rare - the reason for this is a difficult road and dynamic waves.

Rincon Beach is located at the foot of Cape Cabron Mountain, which extends 600 meters and provides a natural shade to the beach. Emerald palm trees border the snow-white strip of sand, which also protects vacationers from the scorching sun.

When is it better to go?

In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.

Infrastructure

This is a wild beach, so there are no public toilets (consider this if you come with children). Hotels and resorts are also not being built nearby, but there are still several beach bars and cafes, so you definitely cannot die from hunger. In addition, sun loungers and umbrellas are rented.

Crystal clear water offers snorkeling, so be sure to bring your pipe and glasses with you.

At the entrance to the beach there are wooden huts where you can buy fresh fish and freshly caught lobsters. You can also try Pina Colada or the typical Dominican drink Coco Loco. As souvenirs, you can bring home a necklace or bracelet handmade by local craftsmen.
