Dorada beach
Playa Dorada is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic in the port city of Puerto Plata. The beach is one of the most famous on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic and there are always a lot of vacationers on it. The beach is 25 minutes from Puerto Plata International Airport and a 15-minute walk from Puerto Plata. It is a site with fine golden sand, the edges of which smoothly enter the water and create the perfect start for swimming, even for young children. This coast is always popular among tourists and among the local population. At the same time, it is difficult to single out the prevailing category of vacationers - here you can meet many families with children, as well as groups of young people who came to enjoy bright parties and carefree pastime on the beach.
You can move barefoot along the beach - there are no stones either on the shore or under water. The coast is protected from strong waves by a coral reef, which acts as a natural barrier. As a result, there are waves near the shore, but not significant. But the wind blows constantly, allowing windsurfers to enjoy safe gliding along the waves.
When is it better to go?
In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
