Cabeza de Toro beach

Playa Cabeza de Toro is one of the 11 beaches over which the "Blue flag" flies. And is located on the Eastern part of the republic. Small town Cabeza de Toro is settled between famous Punta Cana and Bavaro. Lack of sea unrest and small bays all over the coast are perfect for diving and fishing.

Beach description

From above the shore outline looks like bull head, that's why the beach is called like that. Here, as in the whole region, the shore is drawning in white sand and washed by the dazzling blue sea. Shades of palms will help to escape the sun. Coral sand is cool even when the weather is boiling.

Family rest lovers, who are not fans of noisy nightlife, rush to Cabeza de Toro. Due to the large number of coastal hotels here rest mostly their guests. Main services are given only to residents of these hotels, if they have special wristbands. For example, there are no public toilets on the beach.

Tourists can use:

  1. Car park.
  2. Beach volleyball and football courts.
  3. Rented sun loungers and umbrellas.
  4. Wooden paths for strollers and wheelchairs.
  5. Bar.
  6. Lifeguards start working from 9.00 and are on the beach till 18.00.

It's available for all guests to visit Marianarium and Adventure Park Manati, where tourists have fun swimming with sharks and rays or watch parrots and big cats show.

Shore is full of activity opportunities: snorkelling and diving, water canoe tours, water sleds, in the afternoon it's possible to rent a glass bottom boat, and at night - party boats.

It's safe to swim near the shore because coral reef protects Cabeza de Toro from strong waves and deep predators. Natural pools made of coast terrain have given the wide development of the local fisheries. The process is very interesting to watch and especially to take part in it. Those who prefer fish always have fresh seafood including lobsters at a fair price.

Those wishing to feel like on a desert island are removed away from the beach area. It's absolutely empty, only thrown up by the surf seaweed will keep a company.

When is it better to go?

In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
