Bayahibe beach

Located on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic in the vicinity of the village of Bayahibe, which is the starting point of excursion tours to the islands of Saona and Catalina. The nearest La Romana International Airport is less than fifteen minutes by car or taxi.

Beach description

The beach is a rather long coastline (about two kilometers), framed by coconut palms and washed by the tender turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. It is visually divided into two zones - East and West. One of them belongs to the hotel Dreams La Romana, working on the all inclusive system. For tourists who are not staying at the hotel, access to the beach is open, but they cannot use sun loungers, umbrellas, beach bar services and sports equipment. At the same time, participation in sports competitions is not prohibited (with the consent of the hotel guests).

The eastern part is publicly accessible and located in close proximity to the harbor, where many motor boats are moored. In the morning, the beach is filled with tourists who rush on excursions to neighboring islands, in the evening the picture repeats - tourists return back. The rest of the time on the beach is calm, and only the sound of the surf and the cries of local merchants break the silence.

Playa Bayahibe is ideal for family vacation. Kids will surely enjoy frolicing in the warm shallow sea and sculpting sand figures, while adults can have fun on water rides and have a good time in one of the coastal bars.

When is it better to go?

In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
