Fronton beach

Playa Fronton is one of the most remote and secluded beaches on the northern edge of the Dominican Republic. To get to this incredibly picturesque corner for a beach holiday is best by boat. You can book such a boat trip in the small town of Las Galeras, the closest settlement to the beach, located on the northeastern edge of the Samana Peninsula. The journey takes about half an hour.

Beach description

The second option is more complicated and involves an hour-long hike along the coastal trail from Boca de Diablo. Climbing a steep cliff and no less extreme descent along a steep ravine to the beach is a choice exclusively for extreme lovers. The coast itself is covered with snow-white, but not very clean (due to snags and twigs) sand, which is especially contrasted with the emerald luxury of coconut trees growing on the shore and transparent azure-emerald sea waters.

The majestic cliffs surrounding the beach complement this colorful landscape, impressing with the grand scale and special power of mother nature, who created these coastal giants. This beach is a true paradise for connoisseurs of fascinating scuba diving and solitude with a feeling of absolute isolation from the world. The visibility of these waters is amazing, and there are almost no strong waves. Getting here by boat is also worth a visit to the nearby Madame Playa beach.

When is it better to go?

In summer, tropical rains and typhoons – are frequent guests in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, it is better to go there in winter, from November to March, when the air warms up to a comfortable 24-30 degrees, and the weather is dried up.
