Xylokastro beach
Xylokastro is a Peloponnesian beach located in the middle of the mountains. From its shores, a beautiful view of the lands of central Hellas, Greek villages and tourist ships. Xylokastro is covered with soft and golden sand, on which people walk barefoot. There is no strong wind or large waves - high rocks protect them from them. The beach also has a flat entrance to the sea and crystal clear waters.

There are no garbage, sea urchins and dangerous objects. The perfect order is confirmed by the Blue Flag award, which is awarded for the most comfortable amenities. Even in the peak tourist season you can find free places, and developed infrastructure with sun loungers, toilets, changing cabins and garbage cans will allow you to relax and not be distracted by thinking through the trifles, such as where change clothes and what to bring to the beach. In taverns - which there is a large number - you can rest at noon, hiding from the scorching sun.
The following sightseeings are located near Xylokastro:
- Pevcias - is a dense and high forest with a 300-year history. It is famous for its high trees and convenient paths. Thousands of birds, plants and animals live in it;
- Fonissa is a mountain gorge, from which the entire Peloponnese peninsula can be seen;
- Corinth is an ancient town with antique acropolis and thousands of historic monuments.
The beach is located 25 km from Corinth. You can get here by bus, taxi or private car.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
