Stoupa beach

Stoupa is a large sandy beach located 25 km from the city of Kalamata. The beach is perfectly clean and picturesque: it offers views of the mountains, overgrown with stormy greenery, the foot of which is dotted with small houses with a red tiled roof.

Beach description

Stupa is characterized by a smooth depth difference, windless weather, shallow waves. There no sea urchins or sharp objects on its shore. Families with children, young people, couples, active travelers have a rest here. There are citizens of the EU and Balkan Peninsula among the guests of Stupa.

There are showers, toilets, sunbeds, garbage cans and sunscreen umbrellas on the territory of Stupa. Here they brew fine coffee, mix beach cocktails, prepare Greek and continental dishes. Some of such places are open until the morning.

The following sightseeings are located near the beach:

  1. Beaufort's medieval castle;
  2. Turkish cave grotto;
  3. ethnographic museum;
  4. a mountain canyon;
  5. ancient Greek villages.

There are no buses to Stupa. You can reach this place by a taxi or private transport.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
