Beach description
The beach has a scenic view: high cliffs can be seen from the coast, and in the distance, in the foggy haze - Greek towns and villages. Kalamata is gentle, sandy and pebbly, and vacationers will find almost ideal conditions as windless weather, almost complete absence of strong waves and soft bottom without sharp objects or sea urchins. Daily cleaning of the beach contributes to its beauty.
The beach has everything for comfortable vacation: sunbeds, toilets, showers and umbrellas. Here you can both enjoy the sunbathing and rent water transport and conquer a new sport.
Kalamata has a good location: nearby you can find supermarkets, ATMs, markets, sports and children's playgrounds. In its surroundings, you can enjoy local food and drinks, take part in city parades and carnivals, as well as have fun at parties and discos.
Metropolitan buses run to Kalamata. You can also reach here by taxi or private transport.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
