The large white pebbles make the beach look crystal clear. But it's not just an illusion, so to say. The beach was awarded the Blue Flag, and UNESCO considers it one of the best in Europe.
The depth spikes right from the shore so always pay attention to your children. Since the beach is covered in pebbles, descending into water is quite hard. It's advised to sunbathe on the shore for those who can't swim or are afraid of staying in water.
The water is crystal clear and clean. The sea bottom can be seen even when standing, and sometimes schools of fish can be seen swimming through. If you have the necessary equipment, don't hesitate to snorkel: the underwater environment near the shore is simply breathtaking!
Antisamos is considered to be a noisy and crowded beach. It's equipped to the brim with sunbeds, beach umbrellas, changing rooms, showers and toilets. Numerous taverns and bars on the beach have free Wi-Fi.
You can get to the beach by car via the road from Sami Harbor. But take note, as the serpentine that leads to Antisamos is quite narrow and curvy, so if you're an unexperienced driver, it's advised to call a taxi.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

You won't get bored on this beach - tourists are offered water games for any taste: scooter, water plates, catamarans with a hill, oats - all these things can be rented at affordable price. You can also rent a scooter and use massage services.

Right on the beach, there are a couple of cafes, service and food in which, according to feedback, satisfy even the Moscow tourists. And more hard-to-please tourists are really hard to imagine. In local taverns, you can both enjoy your diner in cozy well-furnished halls, and order take-away.

Those who plan to visit Antisamos for the first time will find it useful to know the following:
- The parking near the beach, as well as the access road, is rather narrow. Getting out of the parking lot can be difficult if many cars are parked. Some tourists, therefore, do not rent cars on the island, but ATVs. Driving them on mountain roads is more convenient, more practical, and when compared with the cost of renting, it’s even cheaper.
- Not far from the beach, on a hilltop, stands the monastery of Agrilia, surrounded by wild spruces. It is definitely worth visiting. It offers a magnificent view of Sami Bay on Ithaca. The famous Cosmas of Aetola preached here.
- On the beach you can buy special rubber shoes. You feel much more comfortable in it when you walk on large pebbles.
The beauty of local sunsets cannot be described in words. It is better to see everything with your own eyes. Just make sure that the battery on your device does not go low. It will be a shame if you can’t capture the long-awaited moment.
