Koroni beach

Like Kato Lagadi, Koroni Beach is an ideal option for a relaxing, secluded holiday. A bumpy and winding dirt road leads to it, so for tourists traveling by car with a low suspension is better to leave it on the highway and go down to the sea on foot.

Beach description

On your way there you can rest in the Sesto wine bar that opens an amazing panoramic view of the shoreline. Melissinos Winery, one of the best wineries on the island, is located nearby and open for all who want to try their production.

Although the Koroni Beach is quite remote, it's well-equipped. There's a creek at the end of the beach that provides the showers with its water. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for a relatively cheap price.

Visitors are prohibited from starting camp fires, being loud and building sand castles, as Karetta-karetta turtles nest here. They can, however, smear themselves in healing clay that's overabundant at the end of the beach, near the creek.

The beach itself is sandy, with occasional pebble patches near the water.

Middle-aged and elderly tourists are the most frequent visitors here, young visitors are rare to find. Entering the beach fully nude is strongly prohibited.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
