Katelios beach
It is located near the fishing village of the same name near Kaminia Beach, but it is equipped with all the necessary beach infrastructure. It has the Blue Flag and is considered one of the best beaches in Kefalonia.

Beach description
Golden sand, clear warm sea and smooth descent make this beach perfect for families with young children. The beach is quite long, like Kaminia, so you'll be able to find a spot even during high season. There's breeze during mornings, but evenings bring average waves.
The central part of the beach, 200 meters in length, is called Agia Varvara. You can rent a boat here in order to view the surroundings from the sea, or get a bicycle to ride along shadowy eucalyptus groves. Many taverns and restaurants popular for their meals made out of seafood are situated here. And by the way, visiting these establishments may grant you a free sunbed on the beach.
So called "wild" zones, where you can set up a picnic and play ball, are located on either side of the central part of the beach.
The Katelios village is linked to Kefalonia's capital via buses. You can get to the beach on your own two feet or by car, the road will take you almost straight to the beach and ends at a big parking lot.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
