Golden sands, a clear, warm sea, and a gentle slope make this beach perfect for families with young children. The beach is quite long, similar to Kaminia, ensuring that you'll be able to find a spot even during the high season. A breeze is present during the mornings, but the evenings bring moderate waves.
The central part of the beach, spanning 200 meters, is known as Agia Varvara. Here, you can rent a boat to explore the surroundings from the sea or get a bicycle to ride along the shady eucalyptus groves. Many taverns and restaurants, renowned for their seafood dishes, are situated here. Additionally, visiting these establishments may grant you a complimentary sunbed on the beach.
So-called "wild" zones, ideal for setting up a picnic or playing ball, are located on either side of the central part of the beach.
The quaint village of Katelios is connected to Kefalonia's capital by buses. You can reach the beach on foot or by car; the road leads almost directly to the beach and ends at a spacious parking lot.
