Kato Lagadi beach

An unusually beautiful "wild" beach, hidden among the picturesque cliffs in the southern part of the island. It is quite difficult to get there, but it is worth it. Having left the car on the route, you will have to go down a rather steep rocky path, so you need to take comfortable shoes.

Beach description

The beach itself is a small bay surrounded on all sides by quaint rocks and stones. On the shore and in the sea there is a small pebble, the water is transparent, like a baby's tear. Grottos and caves are complete in the idyllic picture.

These sites were severely affected during the 1953 earthquake. Then the island rose by a meter and a half above sea level, and this is especially noticeable along the local rocks. Ideal for diving and snorkeling fans and all those who prefer a secluded, measured holiday in picturesque, though hard to reach places.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
