Beach description
The main attractions of Kunopetra are the unique red sand and a colorful Greek mill, which produces great photos.
There are almost never waves here, and for the smallest there is a convenient natural "frog" with very warm water.
The beach is divided into two areas. In the first one you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, the second part assumes rest on own towels. You can rent a boat, canoe or catamaran and admire the beauty of the sea, swim with the mask and enjoy the picturesque underwater world.
There is a nice tavern on the beach where you can taste fresh seafood. Several more restaurants are located on the road leading to Lixuri.
At the end of the beach there is an ancient monastery and a cave of Saint Praskeva, along the walls of which water flows, supposedly having a healing effect.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
