Petani beach
It is often compared to Myrtos, but it would be wrong to make such comparisons: Each of them is endowed with unique natural beauty, which can be objectively assessed only by visiting these places personally. Petani is located on the Paliki Peninsula, 20 km west of Argostoli. It is located in a curved bay at the foot of a mountain serpentine.

Beach description
This beach is ideal for introverts who don't like to be in the company of other tourists. All the natural beauty of Petani is for your eyes only. This spacious beach doesn't attract many tourists, but do note that you may encounter some parking problems in the evening.
Despite the steep serpentine that leads to the beach, it feels good to drive on it. You can drive a car or ride a scooter.
The grainy pebbly surface means you won't need to wear slippers, unlike the majority of other beaches on Kefalonia. The descent is smooth, but the depth spikes a few meters away from the shore.
The azure water is very clean. The sea bottom is visible even far from the shore thanks to the clear waves. The best spot here is at the very end near the mountains. It's very calm and quiet there. An interesting sea bottom landscape allows for fascinating snorkeling sessions.
The beach is located in a small bay, there are no winds here which means that the waves are calm and low.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Infrastructure
Petani Beach is equipped with deck chairs and umbrellas, changing cabins, shower, and WC. Right on the beach territory, three restaurants are situated. Prices are rather affordable, and choice and quality are a pleasant surprise. Different from many beaches of the island where coffee and sandwich are the ultimate dream of the visitors.
For example, the seafood plate with 4 kinds of fish, squids and octopuses, will cost a bit more than 20 Euros. This dish is a mix enough to feed 3-4 persons. Moreover, beach taverns serve tasty local white wine at a pleasant price (lower than in island stores and other cafes). If you don't drive this day, don't lose a possibility to try it.

If you are going to Pentani for the first time, it will not be superfluous to know in advance that:
- Public parking is much higher than the beach. From there you have to go down on foot. But taverns have parking for 5-10 cars, which provide them for free for their guests. If you arrive later, everything may already be occupied there.
- On both sides of the beach are two monolithic cliffs. The local rock is called Kira Anna by the locals. Legend has it that once she drowned here to save her child from the raging sea elements.
- Yachts and speedboats enter the bay. So you can not only come here, but also come by renting some water transport in the nearest port.
- Couples in love come here to enjoy the moments of sunset, when the sky is painted with bizarre shades of red and purple, and the bay is plunged into a mysterious haze of impending night.
