Agiofili beach
Located on the south coast of Lefkada, two kilometers from the resort town of Vassiliki. It is considered to be one of the most picturesque beaches of the island due to the transparent sea of emerald color and majestic cliffs, creating an atmosphere of chamberness and solitude. Getting to it is not easy, but this is more a plus than a minus - otherwise this paradise would turn into a lively anthill.

the beach is located in a cozy bay, surrounded by giant steep cliffs. The shore is covered with fine snow-white pebbles, which set off the stunning turquoise of the sea. Such crystal clear water is rarely found near the Lefkada coast - most often the sea has a milky blue hue and a bit cloudy. Due to this, the true connoisseurs of scuba diving rush here, because the coastal cliffs and huge boulders, broken off from the main massif, have become a refuge for a variety of representatives of marine life in the Mediterranean. There are also quite dangerous among them, such as sea urchins and fish-dragons, so it is worth looking carefully under the feet and take care of special shoes.
The beach is equipped with paid umbrellas and sun loungers, also there is a small bar where you can buy sandwiches and drinks. There are no more usual amenities on Agiofili, so you should take care of everything on your own.
It make sense to come to the beach early - by lunchtime the waves are rising, and the number of visitors increases many times. It is also worth noting that Agiofili is officially allowed to sunbathe topless, which is worth considering when going to the beach with children.
there are two ways to get to Agiofili. The easiest and the most comfortable is to use a boat or motorboat, which runs from the port of Vassiliki every hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Travel time is no more than ten minutes, the cost of the trip is 6 euro at both ends. The water taxi does not work during strong storms and low seasons, so you'll have to get to the beach by land.
From Vassiliki to Agiofili, there is not a very comfortable dirt road that can be a problem for a low suspension car, especially after heavy rains. A kilometer from the beach, the car is best left in a paid parking and move ten minutes more towards to the sea on a stony, loose path. The same path will have to be overcome in the opposite direction, but only by climbing the mountain. Therefore, it is necessary to calculate your strength, given the fact that there are no shops and restaurants on the beach, except for one tiny cafe. You should bring food, water and necessary equipment for diving with you, as well as take care of comfortable closed shoes.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Despite the seclusion and isolation of Agiofili beach, it is unlikely to stay in a campsite or campground. The nearest hotel is a kilometer from the beach, on top of a hill, and it offers amazing views of the sea, coast and neighboring islands. It is worth noting that the high season (July, August) is not the best time to visit Agiofili. At this time, the beach is awash with crowds of vacationers in the morning, who somewhat spoil the general impression of this paradise.
