Desimi beach

Desimi is located in a quiet bay, protected from wind and waves, among the shady olive groves. This beach is often called the paradise corner of Lefkada. The shade of water in this part of Greece has an extraordinary emerald shade with gold and silver reflections in the sunlight. The beach is covered with gray and white pebbles, covering the sea bottom. The entrance to the sea is gentle, so Desimi is suitable for kids. There is usually no crowd on the beach, but in the middle of the season, it is better to come early to take a place in the shade of olive trees, which grow right on the beach near the sea.

The beach is popular for both family vacation and youth companies. The infrastructure is weak, but there are several cozy taverns on its territory. In addition to comfortable and safe swimming, Demisi is famous for its numerous grottoes in the cliffs surrounding the beach. You can reach them by boat, which is provided by the locals.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
