Gialos beach
Gialos beach is 35 km southwest from the island’s capital Despite the great length and relatively good infrastructure, the beach is not considered crowded, although it has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including umbrellas and sun loungers, parking for motorists and cafes where you can relax at noon.

Gialos has hidden areas on it where there is no service. The road to the beach is rather narrow, but paved, so you can reach this place by any transport. Walking is quite long and difficult, you have to go down a winding slope. The shore is covered with coarse sand, in some places alternating with pebbles.
Gialos is not a suitable place for newcomers to swim, as there are often winds and small waves. In addition, the bottom contains rocky areas, they are not very dangerous, but special shoes may be needed. Due to its long length, the beach is suitable for any everybody, from the noisy company tha will find refreshing drinks in the nearest bars to those who want to rest in the peace and tranquility of singl tourists or nudists. But for families with kids, it's better to find a more comfortable beachline for vacation.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
