Mikros Gialos beach
Mikros Gialos (another name for the beach is Poros or Rauda Bay) is a comfortably equipped beach marked with the Blue Flag. It is located on the east coast of the island of Lefkada, in the harbor of the fishing village of Poros, 11 km from Nydri and 30 km from Lefkada. In high season, it is always crowded. From all sides the beach is surrounded by hills covered with forest, which is why it is most convenient to get to it by car, following the directions on road signs.

Mikros Gialos is a big cozy beach where there is never wind or waves. A gentle entrance with a long shallow water area makes it convenient for swimming. Du to the fact that the beachfront and sea bottom are covered with large gravel, for a comfortable stay guests are advised to walk on them in special beach shoes.

In addition to the carefree beach vacation, visitors to Mikros Gialos take also take part in boats, kayaks and catamarans, scuba dive, and take pleasure in sightseeing boats. Near the beach there is a parking lot, several supermarkets, hotels and campsites, restaurants and bars, cozy secluded coves. While relaxing here, you can visit the peninsula of Jenny and the harbor of Sivota where visitors are welcomed by beautiful landscapes.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
