Kaminia beach
Kaminia on the northeast side of the island of Lefkada in the village of Tsukalades is one of the closest beaches to the island's capital, Lefkada. The area in this part of Greece is picturesque and beautiful, high cliffs covered with centuries-old pine trees surround the beach, making it cozy and quiet.

Kaminia is a small but charming, secluded and not crowded beach. The route to it lies across the winding road down the slope from the village of Cucalades. The distinctive feature of Kaminia is perfectly clean and transparent water with charming turquoise tint. The narrow ad long strip of the beach is covered with a mixture of sand, pebbles and small rock fragments. In some places on the beach, there are also large stones, which serve as an ideal background for the photo. Most vacationers are families with kids. The best time to visit the beach is in the morning, when the sea is calm and waves are almost absent, the sea is safe in the evening, but the tide significantly increases the shallow water of Kaminia.
A mysterious cave near the beach attracts tourists, which can be reached by concrete steps. It is also worth noting that there is a parking lot near the beach that can hold no more than 10 cars, so it is better to walk on foot to Kaminia from the village of Cucalades.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
