Amousa beach
Amousa is a small beach on the shore of the Ionian Sea, located in the village of Marantochori in the south-east of the island of Lefkada, 35 km from the capital Lefkada. The path to the bay with a quiet and beautiful beach lies after 40 km of the road, surrounded by stunted bushes, tall olive trees and stunning views of the sea.

A quiet and scenic bay with high and steep gray cliffs, covered with lush greenery protects the beach from winds and high waves. Therefore, the sea in this part of Greece is always quiet, and the water is crystal clear. Unusual beauty of the bright blue water combined with smooth large pebbles of white and light gray shades became the hallmark of the most beautiful beach on the island. The entrance to the sea on this beach is smooth, there are shallow area for children - this is one of the main reasons for popularity of this place for family vacation.
The rich marine life at the foot of the cliffs surrounding Amusa, attracts lovers of snorkeling and diving. And sunbeds and umbrellas, which cover almost the entire beach, create excellent conditions for a comfortable stay. Also Amousa has a developed infrastructure in the form of cafe-bars, taverns, snack bars, changing cabins, showers and toilets. Despite the popularity of this place among locals and tourists, Amousa is rarely crowded. But you'd better get there early to leave the car in the nearest parking lot.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
