Pefkoulia beach
Located on the west coast of Lefkada, next to the village of Agios Nikitas. From it to the beach you can reach on foot or by bicycle, moving a little north and admiring the magnificent views of the coast along the road. The capital of the island is only ten kilometers from Pefkulia and is connected with Agios Nikitas by regular bus services.

Beach description
The coastline is quite long, covered with sand mixed with medium-sized pebbles. The sides of shore are covered by rather large boulders, behind which nudists and gays like to hole up. The central part is equiped with sun loungers and umbrellas, there are several small cafes and Deck tavern, where you can have a thorough meal of local and European cuisine. Toilets, changing rooms and showers are also concentrated in this area, but the most comfortable entrance to the sea, optimal for the elders and kids, is just to the right.
The main disadvantages of the beach are the rocky bottom and rather sharp depth near the shore, so you should carefully to choose places for swimming and use special shoes. Do not forget that the sea here is open and quite turbulent, especially in the afternoon.
The undoubted advantages of the beach, annually attracting crowds of tourists and locals to these places are its impressive size, clean sea of amazing turquoise hue and picturesque surroundings, overgrown with dense coniferous forest. It is not difficult to find a suitable place even in the midst of the season, and in the shade of magnificent pine trees you can camp or have a picnic.
A convenient highway leads directly to the beach, which is supported by free parking. Unfortunately, it is quite small and, in the high season, by noon, there are no vacant places on it. In such cases, the cars are parked along the road, which causes traffic jams and congestion.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

The closest hotel to Pefkoulia beach is Olive Tree Hotel. It takes only five minutes of leisurely walking from his gate to the sea. Next to Pefkulia there are several more beaches, each of which has its own characteristics. Just behind the mountain, a little to the south, there is a small secluded Milos beach, one of the most beautiful in Lefkada. A rather steep forest path leads to it, the journey takes about forty minutes. From the village of Agios Nikitas, a water taxi runs to the beach, the schedule of which depends on the season and the excitement of the sea.
To the south of Milos there is the more noisy and lively Kathisma beach, where you can have fun with water rides, enjoy water skiing or jet skiing, and even paraglide.
The city beach of Agios Nikitas is relatively small and borders a fishing harbor, where you can always buy fresh fish and seafood. Here you can book an excursion tour to any corner of the island or go fishing or a romantic boat trip on a rented yacht.
