Kastro beach
The first beach, which greets guests of the island of Lefkada and its northern part. The most convenient way to get to the recreation area is by renting a car, as there is an asphalt road leading directly to the beach. There is also free parking, as well as a bus stop, which budget lovers may not need, as the beach is only 15 minutes away from the city.

Beach description
The beach area is characterized by white sand, which combines clean, transparent and blue water surface. Therefore, there are always plenty of guests and locals of the beach, because the close proximity and cleanliness allow you to rest in the area of Castro at any time of year. There are no facilities along the beachline, as the beach is considered "wild" and unorganized.
The bottom is mostly covered with pebbles, the sea is quite calm, so the place is well suited for vacation with children. The latter will also be interested to see te nearby castle, from which the name of the beach, because the vacation area is right in front of it.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
