Alkyone beach
Alcyone Beach, a fairly developed Greek resort is located on the shores of the Thracian Sea opposite Kryoneri. If you want not to fall out of civilization and relax at the same time, Alcione is your option. The hot sun will give the body tan, and clear water will relax and cleanse the skin.

Alkyone beach is wide and sandy, with shallow approach to the water. If you walk a few meters into the sea, the bottom will still be small, so such a beach for beginners swimmers and young children will have to be as good as possible. A prime location, right in the town of Krioneri, attracts many visitors to Alkione, both tourists and locals.
The main advantage of the beach is its developed infrastructure. Rows of chair lounges and umbrellas are located not only on the sand, but also on the grass behind the beach. Public toilets are installed for the convenience of visitors. Two playgrounds and one basketball court will please children, and a bar in the western part of the beach – their parents and youth. On Alkion there is also a camping site.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
