Ammolofoi beach
About 1 km west of Peramos is Ammolofoi Beach, which is 3 km long. This place is known not only for its stunning nature but also for its fun beach holidays, therefore it is considered one of the best in Kavala. At the same time, the beach area is divided into three sections, where you can find both well-equipped crowded areas and secluded wild places.

the azure waters of the bay are characterized by crystal purity. The name of the beach is translated as "dunes". The place-name, of course, did not arise without reason. The beach consists of soft and quite fine sand, so during the winds, the sand drifts form dunes. The bottom is almost without shells, so it is safe to relax here with children. Entry into the water is comfortable- you will not be hurt, even if you are without special footwear.
The depth and nature of the bottom on different parts of the beach differs:
- in the left part, the water is long and shallow (the first 50 m depth is not above the chest);
- center of the sea near the beach is a bit deeper and a bit larger (but it is where the entire infrastructure is concentrated);
- on the right side, a more wild area, also with a sufficiently significant depth.
Keep in mind the fact that It's not just crowded, but very and very crowded beach. But in spite of this fact, it is very clear here. Ammolufus beach is awarded by two Blue flags.
This beach is very popular among young people. On weekends, parties last until late, but even on weekdays in the middle of the day music is not switched off here. That's why those who love silence will have to either go to a wild site, or search for themselves and a completely different beach.
You can get to Ammolofus by bus to Nea Peramos, and from there you can walk to the rest place on foot or catch a taxi. During the summer season, a shuttle bus will take you directly to the beach.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
