Dikella beach

Dikella Beach - a long sandy and pebble strip on the northern coast of the Aegean Sea. It is named after the town of the same name and is located near the major Alexandroupolis and Makri resort. This equipped coast is ready to provide a comfortable rest in the sun at the blue sea waters.

Beach description

The Coast of Dikella beach is mostly covered with pebbles mixed with sand, it drops under the water at a flat angle, which is ideal for young children. The sandy strip is quite wide and spacious: on weekends and summer, the beach becomes popular with local residents who travel here from Alexandroupolis and the nearest cities. At the edge of the water, sometimes you can find boats on which the Greeks like to swim along the shore.

The beach is well-equipped: on it you can find chaise lounges, umbrellas, garbage cans, showers and cables for dressing. However, the nearest restaurants and cafes should be sent either in the direction of Agia Paraskevi or to the village of Dikella, since there are no places for meals in the vicinity of the beach itself.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
