Marmaritsa beach
It would be no exaggeration to call it an introvert dream. Secluded, enclosed by cliffs from the outside world, it was supposedly created so that a person could stay alone and forget about their problems and worries. Here people only want to swim and dream, dream and swim ... The road to it is quite thorny. Perhaps this is what saved it from the massive buildings and the garbage that remains after the vacationers. Usually, only avid enthusiasts come here who are fed up with a typical beach holiday with crowds of tourists and coastal bars.

Beach description
It is located in the southeast of the modern village of Maronia, on the territory of which there was previously an ancient settlement with the same name.
It is a wild pebble beach in the little bay of Marmaritsa. You can get here by taxi or rented car, but you will not be able to park off the beach. It is protected by rocks, and the downward path is not intended for a day of transport. So you should be ready to go on foot.
Marble rocks (Macri – an ancient marble quarry) divide the coast into two plots, thus forming two small beaches. The layered marble of the coast contains ore.
The Pebble is rather large, so take care of comfortable rubber shoes. Without rubber shoes it is easy to injured your legs. The beach is not clogged with human waste, but after a storm it can melt in the whole beauty of algae and other "gifts of the sea". Therefore, the question of the purity of the beach is a relative question. It would be depends on what you become to mange as clearness.
The Waters in these places are crystal clear. Marmaritsa beach is ideal for fishing and diving, but as the beach has wild equipment, as there are no rental points here.
The beach is not public. Do not be surprised if you are the only visitor to the site.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Infrastructure
The infrastructure of this beach can be described in two words - it is absent. There are no bars, shops, taverns on the beach. In order to find all this, you have to go to the nearest Maronia. You can stay here in Hotel Dioni, Catherine Villas.
There is no loungers, changing cabins, shower and toilet, of course. Therefore, bring along more towels that can fulfill the role of bedding and a screen for changing clothes, if someone else is nearby.
With children here it will be difficult to relax, keep it in mind. Therefore, it is better to go here with a soul mate for dinner under the open starry sky. Be sure to grab a camera - the sunset in these places is indescribably beautiful.

If you already go to this beach, do not apply to look into the village of Maronia. There is something to see from the ancient cultural monuments:
- small Roman port in Agio Charalambo;
- Ancient theater;
- The cave of Maronia;
- excavations of the Megalithic gate;
- Mount Ismaros;
- building on the street Kuloglu and Serefi.
A festival is held in Maronia, within the framework of which you can watch the performances of the ancient theater and the Helidonoport Theater. A visit to this place will be remembered by you for a rich excursion program, delicious cuisine and friendly locals.
