Atlantic Beach is situated in Northeast Florida, in a small town with the population of 14 ths. inhabitants, neighboring with Jacksonville city and, at the same time, belonging to Jacksonville Beach Association. By the way, historians found out that Atlantic Beach was a place of the first all-year settlement of native Americans.
This beach is represented by a little bit more than two kilometers of quiet and serene dunes from dense warm sand of light yellow, sugar white, and beige colors. Transparent shallow water areas with bright blue shades make Atlantic Beach one of the most picturesque place on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Waves in this part of Florida can be strong and high but, despite of this, swimming on this beach is safe. The temperature of ocean water is always moderately warm due to shallow water.
Atlantic Beach is less popular in comparison with Jacksonville Beach, so its coast is not overcrowded with guests and allows enjoying the ocean sound and light breeze while staying alone with your thoughts and feelings.
It is also curious that Atlantic Beach is one of few beaches where both tourists and locals relax with their pets, dogs. Proably, no other beach in the world has this phenomena. Atlantic is especially popular among bicycle riders and surfers.
When is the best time to go?
To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.
