The vast and long sandy coast of Virginia Beach is conditionally divided into several parts, each of which has its own appeal for certain groups of vacationers:
- the coast of the Chesapeake Bay is popular among families with small children because of the significant stretch of shallow water, small waves and excellent coastal infrastructure;
- the southern outskirts are an ideal vacation spot for wildlife lovers who want to get away from the noisy crowds;

Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the water here is much warmer than on other beaches on the east coast of the country. Therefore, in season there are crowds of vacationers almost everywhere.
Along the coast, almost 5-kilometer promenade runs , near which various cafes, shops and equipment rental centers for fun-free leisure are concentrated. In its center is a majestic bronze sculpture of Neptune, a recognisable feature of this American beach.
When is the best time to go?
To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.

Infrastructure
Most cafes and restaurants are located near the beachfront of the Chesapeake Bay. Along the entire promenade, there are a lot of shops, places of recreation, restaurants and entertainment centers.
You can stay in the modern Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront. It is located about 3 km from Virginia Beach but also near the ocean.
The coast is controlled by lifeguards. On the beach areas owned by hotels, vacationers are provided with umbrellas and sunbeds for rent. Near the beach there is a rental of equipment for surfing and diving.
The resort also has several surf shops and schools with qualified instructors to teach this sport. It even hosts a surf championship. Near the coast there are several golf courses.
