East-Hampton Beach

East Hampton Main Beach is the easternmost beachfront of New York State and one of East Hampton's main natural attractions. It is located on the eastern outskirts of Long Island and represents a long picturesque coastal line, almost untouched by civilization, from where an impressive view of the expanses of the Atlantic opens. Lovers of luxurious relaxation come here (the resort is famous as a place of rest for aristocrats) and lovers of active water leisure.

Beach description

The clean coast of Main Beach in East Hampton is covered in light brown sand with no pebbles but with common colorful shells. Such natural beauty combined with picturesque views of the surroundings (old mansions in the background of sand dunes) gave it the glory of one of the three best beaches on the US East Coast.

  • Since the coast is quite long, it is never crowded here even with the high popularity of the beach.
  • This is an ideal place for privacy, and here you can sometimes even meet celebrities.
  • The water on Main Beach in East Hampton is particularly clean. There is a significant area of shallow water near the shore which allows families with small children to relax on the beach.

But still, this area is more popular among surfers - because of the stable significant waves specific of almost the entire coast of the Atlantic. But it is important to consider that it is possible to surf the waves only in permitted areas which cannot be swam beyond. In general, the water is cold here. It is often windy so only the most resistant to cold people can dare to swim at the beach.

When is the best time to go?

To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.
