Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach is a long sandy beach located near the coastal town of the same name on the US east coast in South Carolina, just 7 hours from Washington. This area belongs to the territory of Long Bay - a coastal line with a total length of about 100 km. The town and the beach got their name because of the numerous shrubs of the southern wax myrtle that grow in this area.

The vast and very long coastline of Myrtle Beach is divided into 2 parts: southern and northern parts. The southern section is the main city beach and the central part of Long Bay. This is where the highest Ferris wheel in the United States is located, from which you can admire the spectacular views of the Atlantic. The entire coast is covered with very clean snow-white sand, which is also observed when entering the sea. In some areas, sand is mixed with colorful shells.
Myrtle Beach attracts:
- families with children because of significant shallow water near the coast and a well-developed sphere of entertainment and leisure for any age;
- beginner surfers due to beautiful waves and relatively shallow depths where you can hone your skills;
- romantics and lovers. There are scenic sunsets over the Atlantic and many restaurants on the coast;
- young people who like to combine active beach activities with vibrant parties. There are many nightclubs in the resort;
- coastal fishing enthusiasts because they have the opportunity to catch even small sharks here
In 2010, near the beach, a two-kilometer city embankment was opened, which was eventually recognized as one of the best on the American coast. Along it there are 14 piers near which you can rent a boat or a boat and go for a walk or ocean fishing.
Myrtle Beach is located in the zone of tropical cyclones but powerful hurricanes here are very rare, although they do occur. Autumn is a time of storms. It is difficult to predict how strong they can be. It is best to relax here in the late spring and summer (although rains are not uncommon at this time).
When is the best time to go?
To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.

Infrastructure
In the city there are about 2000 restaurants (including many fish ones). And there are enough of them on the coast. There are a lot of cafes and ice cream stalls on the promenade. The resort has about 460 hotels, many of which are near the sea.
The options closest to the beach are South Bay Inn&Suites (the modern hotel on the first line), Sheraton Broadway Plantation (for family vacation) or Ocean Park Resort (most budget). Sun loungers and umbrellas are only available on hotel-owned beach areas.
The infrastructure in terms of entertainment is developed at the highest level:
- there are many nightclubs and various amusement parks including Broadway on the beach;
- here is the Myrtle Waves aquarium and water park - the largest on the entire east coast of the country;
- an evening can be spent in the Carolina Opry musical variety theatre
This resort is also often called the "world capital of golf" because about 100 special venues for this sport are equipped here - both on the coast and in the city. You can also find branded surfing equipment stores.
