Coopers Beach

Coopers Beach is one of the most popular sandy beaches among New Yorkers which is surrounded by picturesque dunes on the east coast of the United States. It is located in the state of Hampshire, near the city of Southampton, and covers a significant territory along the southern coast of Long Island. The clean and picturesque coast of Cooper beach is invariably popular among Americans and repeatedly hits the top ten beaches in the United States.

Beach description

The width of Cooper Beach is about 90 metres and its length is about 150 metres. The entire coast is covered with very clean fine snow-white sand. The surroundings give it no less picturesque appearance in the form of majestic sand dunes overgrown with sparse vegetation and ancient mansions which are found along the entire coast and that can be seen in the distance. It’s not by chance that many Americans consider this beach a true miracle of American nature on the Atlantic coast.

Cooper Beach is the perfect haven for:

  • lovers of seclusion in the off-season;
  • families with children, as it is not very crowded. It is shallow near the coast. And the coast is controlled by rescuers in season;
  •
  • lovers of long walks along the ocean. On the coast you can see numerous seagulls and admire the spectacular sunsets;
  • surfers. Large and noisy waves crash on the coast and beckon to conquer them on a surfboard

Even in season, the long coast is usually not crowded with vacationers. You can always find a place for relative seclusion. Although the beach is protected from the influence of the cold Labrador currents, the ocean waters, even in summer, are quite cool and attract mainly wave sports enthusiasts.

When is the best time to go?

To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.

Infrastructure

In season, you can find enough amenities for a comfortable stay on Cooper Beach. And in the off-season, you can enjoy this corner of the wild with no annoying merchants. There are toilets and showers on the coast. There are also enough small cafes and bars where you can eat.

  • To set up on the shore, you have to bring umbrellas and towels with you. But in summer you can rent sun loungers here.
  • Lifeguards are on duty on the coast during the season. And this is the only beach in the vicinity of Southampton that they control. So here you can relax as safely as possible.

Near the coast there is a relatively small paid parking. It is difficult to find a place on it in season, if you come here not in the early morning. You can stay in Southampton Inn. It is a budget hotel located 1.6 km from the beach. You can find rental options for apartments the closest to the coast.
