Hawaii is not the most popular Russian tourists' destination because of the long flight and a quite high price. However, if you decided to try something new and unusual far from your motherland, then these islands are perfect for you. One of the best places to enjoy the ocean a picturesque views is Hamoa Beach, being in the world's top five best beaches of 2012.

Beach description
The crescent-shaped shore with length about 300 m is covered with clean fine sand. The locals name it salt and pepper because of the mixture of light and dark sands. The water has wonderful blue colour and attracts all the attention: not only with its colour but also with big waves, which surfers love so much. However even if you don't plan to surf, you should not swim off far from the shore: the tides are high and undercurrents go in the distance, on the beach edges particularly.
Also, there are low dark rocks at the periphery, and if the sea-floor is safe in the central part, it is not quite the same here. Even with a road near, it is still sheltered behind the vegetation, rocks and trees. Despite the road access and beach main features, there is not so many people even in high season. This is due to the fact that it is impossible to come by car closely to Hamoa. You will have to leave your car at the parking lot at the top of the hill and then overpass the trip down the steep stairs and come the same way back. Although those who has been there at least once, do not see a problem.
When is the best time to go?
To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.

Infrastructure
The best hotel located near the beach is Travaasa Hotel Hana, 5*. You estimate all the advantages from the first moments of your stay: high service level, classy room furniture and 10 minutes by driving to the airport. Unlike the beach itself, there are a restaurant, a bar and a coffee house. If you get tired of the wilful ocean, you can always go to a pool, a hot tub or sign up for massage. Although you, even being a hotel guest, will not get bored on the beach: you can rent a surf board or diving equipment. The only disadvantage is the lack of lifeguards, so a first-timer must be careful. Also, a sun lounge or an umbrella rental is unavailable: it is better to have one and take it with you. After swimming, you can rinse yourself in the beach shower; there are changing cabins and toilets there as well. If you take food with you, make sure to snack at the picnic table under the shadows of blossoming trees.

To sum it up, Hamoa beach is the perfect place for a relaxed traveller or for an experienced surfer. Its main advantages are clean water and sand, all necessary modern amenities for comfort rest and its gorgeous views. It is better to get there by car, though there is a bus from Hana; anyway one has to walk down to the beach. Pay your attention to the hill, located on the left side: it is so-called Pele's bone, belonging to one of Hawaiian goddesses.
