Honaunau beach
Honaunau Bay has a thousand-year history. Located on the Big Island of Hawaii and famous for the best underwater attractions. One of the most interesting cultural places of the state is the Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. An ancient religious sanctuary was reconstructed here. The first and last steps of Captain Cook in the New World were also made not far from here.

Beach description
Pure satin sand under the canopy of classic palm trees attracts beach lovers on the coast. Always warm and calm turquoise waters – a home for a variety of marine life, which is "hunted" by divers and keen on snorkeling. Some species of rare fish live only in coral reefs near Honaunau Bay. Monk seals come here, not far from the coast in rocky depressions, large green turtles find shelter, the northern part of the beach, where the bottom deepens, dolphins visit.
The beach has calm water, which makes it safe for kids. True, children can have fun here only by swimming, organized children's activities are absent.
Adults make interesting forays along the coast. The trail to the north leads to a series of bays and arches formed by lava flows. Ocean waves with noise and splashes hit the black coast, tourists need to be careful.
Not far from the lava beach there are steps created by nature, from which it is convenient to immerse in and leave the water. Before diving, you need to be careful not to accidentally lean on a resting sea urchin. When the ocean is very rough, swimming along the reefs can be unsafe.
