Honokalani beach

The crescent-shaped coastline is covered with black volcanic sand and immersed in the greenery of exotic trees. Walking in the vicinity of Honokalani, you can not only watch the numerous birds nesting in the rocks, but also explore the unique lava tubes, wet caves and mysterious grottoes, as well as visit the ancient temple, the most famous and revered in Hawaii.
But swimming in these places is quite dangerous, as warned by numerous signs and signal flags. Powerful ocean currents come close to the coast and create strong turbulence, and the bottom is not uniform and there are sharp drops in depth.
For visitors to the beach there are toilets, showers, gazebos for relaxation and barbecue areas. Those wishing to stay overnight can rent small bungalows in the national park.
