Hulopoe beach

Hulopoe Beach is the only beach suitable for swimming on the island of Lanai, it is also the most beautiful in America, according to many experts. It is used by guests of the island who come to Four Seasons Resort. Hulopoe Bay is within walking distance of Manele Bay, where tourist ferries arrive.

Beach description

The turquoise waves that are nailed to the shore drowning in white sand are ideal for those who are fond of bodyboarding or surfing. You can sunbathe by the water or a little further, in the shade of palm trees. Behind the beach there is a park with picnic tables and barbecue facilities. There is no place to buy food on the beach, so tourists take it with them.

In the eastern part of the coast, due to the ebbs and flows, many natural basins formed, where various fish, crustaceans, starfish and other small organisms live. They manage to observe their life without even wetting their feet. The only thing tourists should remember is that each shell or fish should remain in its natural environment. The same applies to larger living creatures that can be met in the ocean. Whales, dolphins, turtles approaching the shore should not be disturbed, approached, touched.

Hulopoe Beach will be interesting for those who do not want to do anything other than a relaxed vacation. For most of the year, there is no ocean unrest characteristic of Hawaii; on both sides, the calm of the bay is guarded by clusters of boulders. Swimmers only need to consider that the shore when entering the water quickly deepens, there are rapid underwater streams. Children need constant monitoring.

  1. Toilets and showers with fresh water.
  2. Lounge.
  3. Equipment for aquatic sightseeing is provided by the Lanai Four Seasons. "Wild" tourists should have it with them.
  4. The nearest restaurant is also in the Four Seasons resort area.

When is the best time to go?

To lay off on the beaches of the mainland, it is best to come in the summer, when a sufficiently warm temperature is settled for swimming. Places like Florida or the Hawaiian Islands are comfortable all year round.

Infrastructure

The most discerning travelers will be satisfied with the conditions presented in the Four Seasons Resort Lana'i, 5*, located on a high cliff. From here you can see all of Hulopoe. The luxurious rooms provide all the services that a connoisseur of elite relaxation may need.

Part of the time on vacation must be spent on studying the traditions of local cuisine. The taste of quite familiar dishes here takes on an original shade. And purely Hawaiian treats are difficult to compare with anything. Lanai restaurants can surprise lovers of fish dishes with various variations of their preparation. Here you can try mihamahi or it, other types of fish, baked, boiled or fried. Anyone will like crispy donuts or banana bread, which is surprising for foreigners, but quite familiar to Hawaiians.

There are shops on the island where you can buy clothes or shoes, but for basic shopping it is better to go to the continent.

The island is famous not only for the marine reserve. For 2,000 indigenous people, there are about 500 cats that live in individual shelter-bedrooms in individual shelters. The well-being of the inhabitants is strictly monitored by veterinarians, cats are provided with 2 meals a day and the possibility of hugging with many visitors.
