Nea Fokea beach
Nea Fokea is a beautiful sandy beach on the shores of the Aegean Sea. On the beach you can rent a boat or a catamaran, set up a tent (in the center of the campsite), find a quiet and uninhabited place. Next to it there is a Byzantine tower of the beginning of the fifteenth century, three ancient churches, residential buildings of the Ottoman period, a cave with a holy spring and a number of other attractions.

Nea Fokea has the following features:
- good infrastructure: there are beach bars, toilets, showers, sunbeds, changing rooms here;
- convenient location - near the beach there is a large village with a supermarket, a large number of hotels, restaurants and shops;
- large size - the length of the beach exceeds 2 km. Its width reaches 100 m;
- picturesque area - Nea Fokea is decorated with tall trees, huge boulders, coloгrful Greek houses.
Local waters are characterized by a smooth depth increase, small waves and calm weather. Occasionally there are jellyfish and fish here. 90% of the beach surface is covered with sand. Occasionally, stone or shingle are found. For comfortable movement on the sea bottom, it is recommended to wear slippers with a hard sole.
There are buses from Thessaloniki (KTEL Chalkidikis station) to Nea Fokea Beach. It is also possible to get here by personal transport.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
