Olimpiaki Akti beach
Olympiaki Akti is a sandy beach located near the resort town of the same name. The local sea is very shallow, it is ideal for families. In the neighborhoods of the beach there are many hotels and night clubs. Most parties begin at 5 p.m. and last until the morning.

Olympiaki Akti is characterized by the following features:
- almost complete absence of sand and shingle (you can safely walk barefoot along the beach and the sea bottom);
- good infrastructure - sunbeds, lifeguard towers, showers, changing rooms;
- a large number of entertainment - bars, taverns, water sports;
- ideal cleanliness (as evidenced by the international "Blue Flag" Award);
- sunny weather and relatively small waves.
The beach is located 70 km from the city of Thessaloniki. E75 buses and trains run here ("Katerini" station). It is also possible to get to the beach by private transport - there is free parking lot for up to several dozen cars.
Olympiaki Akti is popular among merried couples, athletes, fans of "lazy rest" and single tourists. In the late afternoon, party-animals and bar habitues come here.
Useful information: there is free and well-equipped campsite on the beach. There is also a convenient bicycle path.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
