Porto Koufo beach
Porto Koufo is a beach located in a huge and very beautiful bay. It is surrounded by high and wooded hills. The sea here is so calm that it is mistaken for a lake. There is no waves, strong winds and underwater currents.

There are the following advantages:
- a huge amount of fish - almost half of the vacationers come here with a fishing rod;
- long recreation area and a relatively small number of vacationers;
- a beautiful pier, filled with fishing boats, pleasure launchs and tourist yachts;
- crystal clear and bright blue water;
- good infrastructure - there are sunbeds, umbrellas, taverns, toilets;
- soft, golden sand, pleasant to the touch.
Near the beach there is a fishing village, where the best seafood dishes are prepared. There it is possible to find comfortable hotels and budget apartments.
Porto Koufo attracts not only fishermen, but also merried couples, admirers of "lying" rest, travelers and calm people who, are tired of bustle. There is no loud music, noisy establishments, annoying merchants and drunken contingent. Tourists get to the beach by bus from Thessaloniki (transport runs three times a day). It is also possible to get here by private car (on the highway from Toroni) or by taxi.
Useful information: from the hills, surrounding the beach, stunning views of the sea and the beach are opened. It is possible to climb the peaks along the laid hiking paths.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
