Beach description

Agios Ioannis is a nearly kilometre-long shoreline covered with white and grey sand mixed with fine pebbles. The entry into the water is gradual, and at the bottom there is also a nice pebble of the size of pearl barley. The sea is usually calm, crystal clear and of marvelous turquoise color, but sometimes there are winds that catch up with even and beautiful waves. The beach is equipped with deck chairs and umbrellas, showers, locker rooms and bathrooms. A tiled promenade decorated with bizarre lanterns stretches along the entire shore, there is also a bike lane. On the beach there is enough space for active games, there is room to sunbathe on your towels.

Here you can ride water attractions, and there are special playgrounds, slides and trampolines for children. For those who love active recreation, it is possible to rent a yacht, sailboat or motorboat to explore the scenic surroundings from the sea and visit the Poseidon Cave located nearby.

You can also take a kayak or canoe trip, or go standup paddleboarding, which is popular now.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
