Pigadi beach

The length of this beach is only 100 m, but the shore is quite wide and covered with clean golden sand (in some places – with fine pebbles), which in combination with crystal clear waters attracts visitors here. But do not count on the availability of amenities – there are neither coastal taverns, nor even the usual sun loungers and umbrellas. That's why it's worth taking care of a comfortable stay on the beach of Pigadi by yourself, taking with you everything you need.

This shore is rarely crowded. Unlike many beaches in the region, you can come here even with small children. The beach is well protected from the winds, and there are almost no high waves, which are common in most beaches of Thessaly. Pigadi is the cleanest and most windless beach in the region.

The shore is surrounded by picturesque greenery of plane trees and olive trees, so even in the absence of umbrellas you can find a natural shelter from the heat. If you want to get closer to civilization, you can go to any of the neighboring beaches (Kalivi or Psarolakas). Both of them are also wild, but there are fish taverns near them where you can have a snack. A little further is Kokkini Nero.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
