Melani beach

Melani is one of the many wild, but attractive for relaxation beautiful beaches of Thessaly. The cliffs protruding from the sea give it a particularly impressive look like frozen titans from ancient myths. This beautiful beach is located in the east of the Pelion Peninsula, near the eastern edge of the village of Argalasti. There are no signs of civilization, and everything you need for a comfortable stay on this beach should be taken with you.

Beach description

The Melani shore is long and wide. Given that even in the high season it's not crowded, you can always find a place for a convenient sitting on the beach. The beach is covered with fine golden sand and pebbles, the sea bottom is rocky. On the shore and in the sea there are many huge stones and boulders. So you should be careful when diving, and grab comfortable shoes for walking along the shore. Waves are also often generated here, although they aren't very high. Still, it's better to go to a different beach with the little kids.

The water on Melani Beach is of amazing dark blue color and incredibly transparent, which attracts divers. But you'll have to take diving equipment with you. There is only a fish tavern on the shore that functions during the season. From Melanie, you can reach the nearby Paltsi Beach, located 5 km away.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
