Horto beach
Horto is a small but comfortable beach located near the town of the same name in Pagasitikos Bay on the southwest coast of Pelion. Good accessibility (you can drive up to the coast by car), a certain degree of infrastructure for a comfortable stay and clean waters made it a favorite place for couples with children.

Beach description
The coast of Horto is sandy and pebbly, with pebbles predominating both on the shore and in the sea. The water here is so incredibly clear (especially in July and August) that you can see the multicolored pebbles at the bottom. Wide area of shallow water near the shore and lack of waves (they almost never occur here) gave it the reputation of the best in the region for recreation with babies.
For a comfortable stay on the shore you can rent comfortable chairs and sit in the shade of olive trees or lie on sun loungers under umbrellas near the seaside tavern. There are several restaurants and mini-markets in the village. Young people can go to the village of Melia (2 km away), which has several nightclubs.
In the central part of Horto Beach, there is a long pier from which you can go to a boat trip around the area on a rental boat or fishing boat. In the village you can visit the Agelini Museum, which offers a rich collection of antique items, allowing you to get acquainted with the life and culture of locals.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
