Platania beach
Located in the most southern part of Pelion next to the village of the same name. There is a small port in Platanias, from where ships depart towards the Northern Sporadic Islands.

Beach description
The shoreline is quite long, covered with sand with small inclusions of pebbles and small shells. You can find some stones in the sea, especially near the port. The water is clean, transparent, just like everywhere else in Pelion. The advantage of the beach is that it has enough space for both lovers of comfort and “savages”. Trees and shrubs come close to the shore and in their shade you can find a comfortable place to set up a tent. Near the beach, there is an equipped camping site where you can stay with a trailer, tent and even boat. All conditions for a comfortable budget vacation are created here, there is a kitchen equipped with everything you need, showers, toilets, free internet, cafes and shops.
The beach is quite crowded, especially in August. It has a small parking lot, but there isn't enough space for everyone, so cars are left on the promenade and the village streets closest to the sea.
On the beach, you can rent umbrellas and sun loungers, use the services of masseurs, take a ride on water attractions. The cafes and taverns are located along the promenade, as well as grocery mini-markets and small clothing and souvenir shops.
When is the best time to go?
Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.

Infrastructure
In a port, located to the left of the beach, you can rent a boat or yacht to go on a sea excursion or for fishing. There you can buy freshly caught fish and and seafood, and local fruits and vegetables. Along the promenade are located hotels and guest houses for any taste and budget. You can rent here a car, bike or bicycle.
Nearest to the beach is Platanias Hillside a small cozy guest house, immersed in the greenery of a luxurious garden. The sea is just in a few minutes walk, the nearest taverns and convenience stores are located at a distance of 100-200 meters. Clear and spacious rooms equipped with kitchenettes and modern furniture, there is free Internet and satellite TV channels available. Excellent service and friendly attitude of the staff.

To the right of Platanias there is Mikro Beach, one of the most beautiful in these places. You can reach it on foot along the beach line, although in some places the road will be difficult due to collapsed boulders and large pebbles. The whole journey will take half an hour, but here it will be possible to swim with a mask from like there is no tomorrow, admiring the sea inhabitants, or diving from the surrounding rocks. You can also get here by car, but this option will not be so exciting and picturesque.
