Mylopotamos beach

Located in the southeastern part of Pelion. The nearest settlements are Tsagarada village and Muresi village. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and invariably attracts a lot of tourists.

Beach description

The beach is small, only two hundred meters long, and quite crowded. That's why, in order to take a good place and make a successful photo shoot, it is necessary to come early, especially because the sun hides behind the mountains in the afternoon. The shore is covered with fine pebbles, it's bigger in the sea. The water is transparent, of amazing emerald color. In the morning, the sea is usually calm, the waves rise by lunchtime.

The beach is divided into two zones, there is an improvised passage between them in the form of an arch in the rock. In the first part you can rent umbrellas and deck chairs, it is more spacious and lively. The other half is smaller, more “wild”, but also quite crowded.

The bay is surrounded by picturesque cliffs covered with thick forest. The aroma of the southern pine trees is mixed with the sea air and adds extra charm to this place. There are a lot of odd boulders and underwater stones in the sea – a real paradise for those who like to dive and swim with a mask.

You can rent a boat or canoe on the beach and explore the picturesque surroundings from the sea. There are a lot of caves hidden in the coastal cliffs, so there is always something to do for active and curious tourists.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
